Today we had our third service trip! We took our Writing ELL class to two Boys & Girls club locations.
I took 3 students and their advocate to the East Ave. location, and the instructor, Beth, took 4 students to the Grand Blvd. location. It was a lot of fun and I think the students enjoyed working with the elementary students. We had 100% attendance from this class which is our best yet!
The East Ave. location did not have as many students in the homework room as the Grand Blvd. location did but the C2C Students were still able to help the kids with math homework, and reading. The kids were eager to read to us and work with our C2C Students.
At the Grand Blvd. location they had two kids to everyone 1 C2C Student. Each kid would take turns reading. The C2C Students loved it and were sad when they had to go.
I totally forgot to rent a camera from the Library and my phone did not save all of the pictures that I took this afternoon but here is what I have! We were unable to get any pictures of the Grand Blvd. group.
Cannot wait to do our final project tomorrow back at Shared Harvest! Hoping to have better attendance this time too!
